summer songs

What are the best summer songs? The ones about summertime, or just sound great played full blast on a hot day, or the ones you hum at work when you wish you could be at the beach?

3 off the top of my head:

Sly + the Family Stone -"Hot Fun in the Summer"
Janis Joplin -"Summertime"
The Lovin' Spoonful -"Summer in the City"

cool
"A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

Queen Latifah :: Weekend Love
Corina :: Summertime, Summertime
Sophie Ellis-Bextor :: I Won't Change You
Lil Kim :: Magic Stick
Anastacia :: Don't Stop |Doin' It|
Lloyd Cole & The Commotions :: Brand New Friend
Level 42 :: Something About You
Mariah :: Irresistible |feat. Westside Connection|
Shaznay Lewis :: Now Your'e Gone
Mariah :: Get Your Number |feat. Jermaine Dupri|
Jaki Graham :: Round and Around

summertime summertime--nocera
Nocera Lyrics - Summertime, Summertime Lyrics

Chorus:
Take me
Take me to the water
Summertime, Summertime
Maybe, we can fall in love
In Summertime, Summertime

I listen to the rain outside
Please come and take me for a ride
I really want you
To come and take me far away
I want to say

Chorus

I'm here lying on the sand
You look down to me and take my hand
I can't believe it's true
But you got me after thee
Until you say

Chorus (4x)

all day music--WAR

music is what we like to play
all day all day all day all day all day
to soothe your soul
down at the beach or a party in town
making love or just riding around
to soothe your mind

down at the beach or a party in town
making love or just riding around
lets have a picnic go to the park
rolling round till long after dark
down at the beach or a party in town
making love or just riding around
lets have a picnic go to the park
rolling round till long after dark
down at the beach or a party in town
making love or just riding around

lets have a picnic go to the park
rolling in the grass till long after dark
down at the beach

other songs I like to hear during the summer months...

"Southern Nights" by Glen Campbell (1977)---reminds me of those long,hot summer days in the late 70s.

"Everybody Loves The Sunshine" by Roy Ayers (1976)---a lazy summer afternoon song.Sit in the shade and just chill with this song.

"Moonlight Feels Right" by Starbuck (1976)---another song that reminds me of those summers when I was a kid growing up in the 70s.

Those abs were ridiculous. At school, i did that song for a talent show, and i painted on my abs and oiled up my 11 year old chest. Damn, that was a laugh.
