Hey Cure fans, what do you think of the reissues so far?

Oi, I'm hoping some of you Cure fans (I know there's tons of you out there) will tell me what you think of the reissues. I'm kind of on the fence about getting them. I'm definitely getting the Top since I don't already have it, but I'm not sure about the others. I'm not a huge fan, I think most of their albums are pretty hit and miss but I do love the Join The Dots box. So are the rariteis/demos any good? Or are they strictly for the hardcore fan?

The single disc remastered editions were just released a few weeks ago so if you want to hear the remastered tracks, but not all the extra demos and live versions, you can buy those instead.

Hmm. I thought for sure more people would have posted on this thread. There are some cool things on the double discs. Like the Cult Hero singles on 'Seventeen Seconds'. And I'm not sure if the "Carnage Visors" soundtrack is on the single disc of 'Faith' so you may want to get that double disc also. Other than that, so far the extras are mostly outtakes, demos or live versions. Not very necessary I think if you aren't a hardcore fan.

I have heard the "Seventeen Seconds" and "Faith" discs so far and I agree that they are interesting for the hardcore fans but not for the casual fan. The soundquality of the outtakes is really bad. The only interesting thing about these releases are the liner notes.

Of course, I love them all. They're worth it for the first discs alone. That said, I think "Seventeen Seconds" is kinda skimpy. So far the "Three Imaginary Boys" and "Faith" reissues have been the more interesting and complete. I'm guessing that the quality of outtakes and demos will increase with the next batch. The liner notes and photos are really nice too. "Join the Dots" is the ultimate so far. Perfectly put together.

all of the remasters have been fantastic. I agree that the material on the Seventeen Seconds bonus disc is kinda weak, but i guess that's all they had to work with. The sound on all of them is wondeful. Definitely recommended for Cure fans. Can't wait for the next batch!!
