Sorry and

Only You - The flying Pickets
Sea of Love - By ?????
Save your love 4 me, massive and tacky UK/NZ hit by cod Maltese duo Renee and Renato, sounds like Pavarotti on speed
Rat Rappin, Roland Rat
Lets get fabulous - ?????
Funkytown- Lipps incorporated (recorded 1979, hit 1980)

And now some hard ones
Tears- Cathy and the Crocodiles

lol dontcha just love kids...

"Solid" was their only hit as a duo, for those of you who think I am a kid, I know of her 1972 hit Silly wasn't I

eek

Ashford and Simpson had many hits, beginning in the 70s.Granted,most of these songs didn't "crossover",but they were huge hits on the R&B charts...

"Somebody Told A Lie" (1976)
"It Seems To Hang On" (1978)
"Is It Still Good To You" (1978)
"Found A Cure" (1979)
"Love Don't Always Make It Right" (1980)
"Street Corner" (1982)
"Love It Away" (1982)
"High Rise" (1983)

even after "Solid",they continued to have more hits...

"Outta The World" (1984)
"Count Your Blessings" (1986)

and you do know that they wrote and produced a ton of hits for other artists, right?

"Ain't No Mountain High Enough" for Dians Ross (1971)
"The Boss" for Diana Ross (1978)
"Ride-O-Rocket" for The Brothers Johnson (1978)
"I'm Every Woman" for Chaka Khan (1978)
"Landlord" for Gladys Knight & The Pips (1980)
"Last Night" for Stephanie Mills (1982)

there's many more

Technically, Ready For The World and Naked Eyes aren't one-hit wonders either. I actually preferred "Promises Promises" (which also got tremendous radio play) to "Always Something There to Remind Me".

I was always partial to Murray Head's "One Night in Bangkok" (hope that one qualifies). After The Fire's version of "Der Kommissar" was also cool. biggrin

Some of those people had more hits, Nik Kershaw had The Riddle and a couple of duets with Elton John, he sung back up with Elton on Breaking hearts and joined George Michael on Nikita.
Jellybean discovered and produced someone called Madonna Louise Ciccone. Tone Loc had a second mega hit in late 1989 with Funky Cold Medina (it sounded a lot like Wild Thing).
Deneice Williams was a prolific gospel singer who occasionally did pop, and had a Number 1 in 1978 with Johnny Mathis, his comeback hit called Too Much, Too Little, absolutely fantastic ballad. Mel and Kim had a second hit and a whole album, but one of them died from Cancer and that was the end of their career. Also u may find some of these artists had just one American hit, but were huge stars back in the UK, British Commonwealth and Europe. Abba, Cliff Richard and Boney M barely dented the charts in the US, but were mega stars in the UK. Some examples of this are

I'm all out of love- Air Supply 1980(OZ)
I should be so lucky - Kylie Minogue 1988(OZ)
Youre the voice- 1987 John Farnham (OZ)
I got You - Splitz enz 1980 (NZ)
What is love - Haddaway 1993 (Ok its later ) (UK)
Safety Dance, Men without hats 1982-83 (UK)
Too shy- Kajagoogoo 1983, and the neverending story by Limahl 1986 (UK)
Small town boy - Bronski Beat 1985 (UK)

and who can forget

Ride on Time - Blackbox 1989 (Italy)
Pump up the Jam - Technotronic featuring Felly 1989 (Belgium)

Pop Muzik by Robin M was released in 1979, but also rereleased in 1989 so I guess it counts.
Other 1979 one hit wonders are

1. My Sharona , The Knack
2. Kiss u all over Exile (Maybe 78)
3. Knock on wood - Amy Stewart 1979
4. Ring My Bell - Anita Ward
