I still listen to Supastar on a regular basis biggrin You reminded me of why I love Ledisi. I wasn't too keen on the "take time " song but hearing it in your mix just really freshened it up for me and now every time I hear it I think of your mix and it makes me happy smile

She was your Sexy Dancer twin. giggle

I miss Harle, too. She still pops up once in a while but not enough! She hipped me to some amazing Arabic music, and I share her deep love for Billie.

And while we're mentioning old-skool ladies, Supernova knows she's missed too. sad

that totally tripped me out--she was like the only other person on this site that loves "sd" as much as i do! giggle

she's cool as hell too...wonder where she's been as of late? hmmm

i still think that her answer to "what is funk?" should be hung up in the org hall of fame. worship

Hell yes, motherfucker lol you know you forgot some goddamn body in that long ass list.

Namepeace, Funkmistress, Stymie, Paligap and Supa-Thank you for the heads up.

As for whom I'm compatible with,,,it will be Mistermaxxx. Me and him understands each other in the deepest sense(books, movies, music,,you name it),,,,this forum isn't the same after he got banned.

And not to mention Brother915. Him, Maxxx & DavidEye were the trio who REALLY schooled me on some hip shit. Manki is a funky white cat too, I'd love to sit and watch him play(Me and him share the same passion for Donny Hathaway).

And not to mention, these guys are flat out FUN(as opposed to some of the geeks who take themselves and everything else so damn seriously rolleyes).

hmmm That's interesting you see how my take on film and music relate. Not sure how that comes through, but very cool that you notice. biggrin

I've seen you compare the work of artists you like to certain directors or films. I like the cross-pollenization. biggrin

Out of all the mixes I sent you, I was surprised "When the Lights Go Down" was your favorite. I thought for sure you would have preferred the more upbeat stuff but the fact that you loved that disc showed me you were serious about music nod

I'm very serious about it and the really cool thing is that I'm not done learning. Because of you guys, I have been turned on to stuff I would have never even thought about. And I keep learning.

oh hell yeah...bad thing for me is pretty soon another one of my favorite local wrecka stos (hymies records) might be closing up temporarily since the city's about to do some major construction on the road that they're on. now i probably won't be able to do any digging anytime soon, except at the record shows that happen every 2 months...that, and i'm gonna shop around for a new turntable pretty soon and they're the only place in town i know of that sells used ones...bawl

at least i'm on hymies's mailing list. giggle
