Stacy Lattisaw! Who remembers this chick? She had a lot of hits in the 80's. Nail it to the wall, let me be your angel, love on a two way street, etc. Looks like they've re-relesaed her old albums. Anyone know anything about the album called Sixteen? Looks very new wavish. | |

I don't remember that album getting much airplay except for the 45, "Miracles". It was a nice slow jam that reminded me a little of her ealier hit "Don't Throw It All Away".

Yeah it was mostly her slow jams that got played on the radio but her uptemp tracks were cool too. Nail it to the wall is my favorite fast track of hers. She should have married johnny. That would have been cute. I heard she retired from the music bizness. | |

'Sixteen',released in the fall of 1983,is a very New Wave-sounding album.The first single was a soulful ballad "Miracles",but she followed it up a catchy,New Wave-styled pop single "Million Dollar Babe".I always felt that it should have been her big "crossover" hit,but it bombed as a single. | |

She did a forgotten album in 1985,containing the minor hit "I'm Not The Same Girl".Even Stacy hates this album,dismising it as just a bunch of "Whitney Houston reject songs",lol. | |

Yeah, I really liked her early eighties stuff. That song was Kool, I loved Narada Michael Walden's Drums at the end of the tune.....I also love his piano on My Love... By the way, on that first album, on the tune, "Dreaming", Narada had Chic's Bernard Edwards and Nile Rodgers on guitar and Bass...Randy ("Dawg") Jackson also played bass on some of the album... ... in 1979,a singer/songwriter/producer named Frederick Knight composed a song called "Ring My Bell" and it was offered to a young Stacy Lattisaw for her debut album.The song was about teens chatting on a party line,but for some reason,it was decided that the song wasn't suitable for Stacy.So,with a few minor lyric changes,the song was given to Anita Ward and it became one of biggest disco hits of that year. Another variation of this story insists that the version offered to Stacy features the same suggestive lyrics of the Anita Ward version,and Cotillion Records felt that it was too steamy for a young teen to be singing.
