There isn't anything like that here in South Florida. Nothing but *Clear Channel* across the board, or so it seems. Later You can listen and check them out online www.KCRW.com Let's put it this way, I have heard both Starfish & Coffee and A-U-T-O-matic in their entirety on this station before They archive the music shows. Check em out. Most of them are excellent. Chocolate city and Metropolis are my favorites [Edited 4/18/06 10:04am] 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

I just feel that this record should be heard. This album has topics ranging from love to suicidal thoughts. Happiness to necrophillia. Not since Prince's early days have I heard topics and sounds so bold but at the same time could easily be played on pop radio. Lo's vocal performance on this album is just amazing to me. It is so emotive and theatrical. St. Elsewhere will be a critical darling. I am glad that it is catching on, though I think that US radio may pay it no mind. Later [Edited 4/18/06 11:24am] Well there are a lot of music lovers out there and it will get some love for sure. Word of mouth can be a powerful thing And the song is getting played on TV shows here. I heard a clip of it last night on Medium. The US is in need of a musical renaissance. It's depressing to hear the shit that passes for music these days being eaten up like a delicacy when in fact it's pure lard I am seriously itching like mad to get my hands on this. I had no idea Cee-Lo was workin on anything new and when I heard this on KCRW I knew that was his voice. I can't wait to hear this. Those promo pictures I can confirm without question that the above statement is fact. Here is a link to the Gnarls performance of Crazy from Top of the Pops yest. http://vids.myspace.com/i...030131&n=2 It is a slowed down version, but Lo delivers. Nice to see that there will be a live band. Later [Edited 4/17/06 12:59pm] That was great thanks. They're gonna be big, at least in the U.K.

Here is a link to a Gnarls Barkley documentary that was done on BBC radio. Some great insight to Cee Lo and Danger Mouse.
Amazing to hear that Crazy was written on the fly and the vocal we hear is the original first take. Yes, only one take. http://www.bbc.co.uk/radi...ouse.shtml Here is an early review of the promo (not full album) from LA Weekly. http://www.laweekly.com/m...pse/13072/ Finally, here is a review of the full album from NME. http://www.nme.com/review...rkley/7915 Enjoy!! Good to hear a modern producer who knows that without a good song you don't have anything. Most modern producers wouldn't know a real song if it bit them on the ass. I like the Woody Allen analogy too.

[Edited 4/20/06 6:59am] I love that track as well and I am impressed that was the track you dug. People I have played the album for have always had to warm up to it. My wife has to skip it all together. the UK has better taste in music than the states imo. I hear people say bullshit like "they listen to anything in the UK" when albums like Lovesexy went to #1, and groups I really dig like Eels have had success out there. We are the ones who listen to anything they market a certain way. I don't think the United Kingdom is as brainwashed as the states.

Brainwashed is a very fitting term. It applies to much more than music here in the US. Later Cause tomorrow is taking too long

Wasn't Crazy Frog #1 in the UK? It sank without a trace here. The UK has great AND horrible taste.
