I've seen this thread floating around the org for the last few weeks, but never bothered to open it. Then I saw the video for "Crazy" last night on MTV2's 'Subterranean' show and again today on Fuse(!). That's some hot stuff there. Love the video. I'll be looking out for this album soon.

Lots of good stuff starting to float around on youtube.com for Gnarls.

They did their first live US spot at the Roxy as a warm-up for Coachella. Some of the performances can be seen here.

http://www.youtube.com/re...%20barkley

Cannot wait to see them live.

No! I mean I love hip-hop but I love the White Album too, and I didn't enjoy his spin on it. Nice concept but not so great in practice.

So you didn't like the way 'The White Album' was cut up then?

I guess to keep in the movie theme of their promo pictures....

(album also does the same thing as you hear a movie reel spinning from start to finish)

When they played Coachella yesterday, they were dressed in Wizard of Oz costumes!

GNARLS BARKLEY St. Elsewhere (Warner)
Sometime around the beginning of June, you'll be walking down the street and the song you'll hear blaring from every car stereo will be Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy." The bonus here is that the inevitable song of this summer is only the gateway into one of the year's best albums. With St. Elsewhere, Cee-Lo and Danger Mouse have created an authentic work of electronic soul, a record that points to the future even as it pays loving homage to the past. Cee-Lo has a voice that wouldn't have been out of place in the heyday of Motown and throughout the record Danger Mouse remains respectful of it, tossing tons of adventure and invention into his beats without getting in the way of his star vocalist. Despite a couple of minor missteps, St. Elsewhere is an infectious, danceable album destined to be one of the defining musical artifacts of 2006. Matt Semansky

From what I heard on the Myspace stream, that's a good description. I thought this was released yesterday. Best Buy and HMV both said the release date is next Tuesday, May 9 (I'm in Canada canada)

"Crazy" has been receiving heavy rotation on VH-1 this past week. I'm glad I got the chance to catch it, because it's such an awesome song.

I'm listening to the album right now, and I absolutely love it. "Smiley Faces" is something crazy! Cee-Lo's delivery is just on point.

Definitely picking this up next week.
