The Love Below is still the shit.

Since some of you have already forgotten, Andre3000 is the man and will remain so, until Prince can do a consistent album of brilliant music like this. Prince is doing better, but Andre is the true genius for now.

This will remain the album for a long time to come. Classic music for this or any other age. Like the best Prince, but with a great sense of humor and musical chops up the ass. The fucking jazz piano is mind bending. He does find great musicians.

This will remain the shit ya'all. woot! Hey Yahhhhh.

lol i love roses biggrin But the thing is "Andre" knows what he is doing, he knows what audience is listening to his music, where I don't believe prince does..and plus prince should NOT!! i repeat should not be producing his next album!

Yeah Andre and his three chords.

O k kkkkk kay.

An album he could never perform live, becasue he did not write the songs.

OKAY

Andre aint seeing nothing on 3121.

He prob got a boot, looking for ways to bite Lolita.

I agree. It's a great rainy day album, too.

"Roses" really grew on me after all the hype faded away.

typo edit.

"Roses" sucks donkey balls. I was actually kind of underwhelmed by The Love Below when I first heard it after all of its hype, but it is solid for the most part.

Let me just say that an album with nice songs like "Hey Ya!," "Happy Valentine's Day," "She Lives In My Lap" and the outstanding "Prototype" will always "listen" well over time.

However comma. I haven't heard the studio version of "Fury," but the live version I heard overwhelms almost all of TLB put together.

TLB is probably the more "relevant" album for its time, just as Purple Rain and SOTT were for its time.

But let's be clear. 'Dre ain't Prince.

Even the most Prince fans (including myself) are fully aware of the depth of Prince's talent. We know what "Dre can do. And what he can do is pretty doggone good. But he's nowhere near P, who has been "holding back" for a while (IMHO).

i thought this was a really great album. "she's Alive" "Dracula's Wedding" "Pink & Blue" "Love and War" really great stuff. i'm not a big fan of "good day good sir" never really got what that was about "happy Valentines day" is funky!

Agreed. I like 'Dre and TLB is a fun album, but he's nowhere near Prince. Not even close.

2Freaky, you know you just tryin' to get people riled up because 3121 is about to drop. Plus, half the stuff on TLB was inspired by Prince, so why should he feel threatened? It's almost like Michael Jordan being threatened by LeBron James, only Prince is still very much in the game.

When I finally heard The Love Below I really wasn't impressed. The songs already mentioned were pretty good I admit but I didn't feel that it was earth shattering but I didn't think it was really that awesome. Maybe the whole set Speakerboxxx/TLB for hip hop was groundbreaking but outside of that it was okay. Andre is definitely talented but I can't call him genius just yet.
