Recommend some Stylistics to me

So, I'm hangin' out with my housemate who's like in her 40s and she's lovin these 70s soul joints that I keep playing around the house.

Then she asked if I had "Stone In Love With You" by the Stylistics. Man I don't even have it on like volume two of the Crooklyn soundtrack, or none of these compilations!

hmmm Now I realize I gotta step my Stylistics game up.

Fans of the Stylistics, recommend me some CD(s) to get. thumbs up!

Throw in Sideshow and Hurry Up This Way again and you'd have my favorites.

Unless i'm mistaken, Sideshow is a Blue Magic tune.

You're not mistaken, my memory is just shotty. You know how it is when there's a song that you always associated with another artist?

Don't blame you. It sounds just like a Stylistics tune.
Complete with the Thom Bell seal of approval. wink

Start with any Greatest Hits featuring the songs that theAudience suggested. There's a three cd set that might be an import, but it includes the title of 1982.
"Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!
"It's just my imagination, once again running away with me."

They recently released an excellent 2-CD "Best of" set which I've been meaning to pick up.Contains every Stylistics hit you will ever need, plus some key album tracks.

THE VERY BEST OF THE STYLISTICS....and MORE

DISC ONE---
You're A Big Girl Now
Stop,Look,Listen (To Your Heart)
You Are Everything
Betcha By Golly Wow
People Make The World Go Round
Country Living
If I Love You
I'm Stone In Love With You
Break Up To Make Up
You'll Never Get To Heaven (If You Break My Heart)
Peek-A-Boo
Ebony Eyes
If You Don't Watch Out
It's Too Late
You're Right As Rain
Pieces
Rock and Roll Baby
Only For The Children
Pay Back Is A Dog

DISC TWO---
You Make Me Feel Brand New
Let's Put It All Together
Heavy Fallin' Out
Jenny
Thank You Baby
Sing Baby Sing
Can't Give You Anything (But My Love)
Sixteen Bars
Funky Weekend
You Are Beautiful
Can't Help Falling In Love
Auld Lang Syne
Love Talk
Hang Your Teardrops Up To Dry
You're My Woman,You're My Lady
No One In The World
Just Like We Never Said Goodbye
Hurry Up This Way Again
My Happiness

My only complaint is that it is missing a few essential tracks...

***"Children Of The Night" (1972)---a popular album track from their second album 'Round Two'.It's a wonderful, haunting ballad.I'm surprised that a modern-day artist hasn't come along and recorded a remake.

***"Hey Girl,Come And Get It" (1975)---in the mid-70s,they worked with producer Van McCoy,which took their music in a disco-y direction. This song is the finest of all the tracks they recorded with him....a sexy, catchy midtempo dance number that really deserved to be a bigger hit.

***"Some Things Never Change" (1985)---one of their latter-day singles. This song is almost as impressive as their 70s hits.

Despite those omissions, this is still the most extensive Stylisitics compilation that I've seen, and I plan to buy it soon.
