hmmm. i'd recommend anything you can get your hands on that has "mighty real" and "do you wanna funk", cuz those are his biggest hits and, in my opinion, his easiest songs to get into. if you like his style, then i would recommend the live "living proof" album, because it gives you a really good idea of what his energy was like as a performer, and his voice is just amazing throughout.

if THAT turns you on, buy the biography "the fabulous sylvester" and read it through, because it goes into great detail about the sound of each album and the making of it. i don't have a lot of his albums - i am a relatively new fan of his - but i love what i have.
