Alicia Keys, "If I Ain't Got You"

Some people live for the fortune,
Some people live just for the fame.
Some people live for the power,
Some people just live just to play the game.

Some people think that the physical things
Define what's within.
And I've been there before,
But that life's a bore,
So full of the superficial.

Some people want it all,
But I don't want nothin' at all.
If it ain't you, baby,
If I ain't got you, baby.
Some people want diamond rings,
Some just want everything.
But everything means nothing
If I ain't got you.

Some people search for the fountain
That promises forever young.
Some people need three dozen roses,
And that's the only way to prove you love them.
Hand me the world on a silver platter,
And what good would that be
With no one to share,
With no one that truly cares for me?

Some people want it all,
But I don't want nothin' at all.
If it ain't you, baby,
If I ain't got you, baby.
Some people want diamond rings,
Some just want everything.
But everything means nothing
If I ain't got you.

Nothing in this whole wide world don't mean a thing,
If I ain't got you with me, baby.

Oh damn, I love this song.

Christina Aguilera, "Too Beautiful for Words"

When I try to describe how I feel when you hold me,
I get butterflies, I hear lullabies,
It's hard to explain.
Like the scent of a rose,
Or the sound of the rain,
It's too precious and too wonderful to give it a name.

Too beautiful for words,
This symphony inside me.
Too beautiful for words,
I cannot take them lightly.
Can you hear my silent heart?

It's on the tip of my tongue,
But my lips are still sealed.
Only violins and their innocence can show you how I feel.
And I hear them again at the end of the day,
I'm all teary-eyed when we kiss goodbye,
There's nothing I can say.

Too beautiful for words,
This symphony inside me.
Too beautiful for words,
I cannot take them lightly.
Can you hear my silent heart?

Must be a million times I've tried to express this love of mine.
When it cuts this deep, when it tastes this sweet,
It's not easy to define.
'Cause your friends don't dance, and if they don't dance... well, they're no friends of mine.

It is, in fact it is my favourite song ever love. It not only has beautiful lyrics, but also the music is amazing and the vocals just blow me away everytime I listen to that song, so much emotion in his voice worship

indeed. the vocal delivery is just astounding. he puts so much feeling
and emotion in it. the screams are breathtaking. whenever i play that,
i can't just listen to it once, i have to play it over and over again.

cause there simply isn't any song you can go to after that one. you'll
have to turn off your stereo for a few minutes of silence before there
can be another record

biggrin
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

and keeping with the Jeff Buckley theme, one of the most beautiful songs ever....

LOVER, YOU SHOULD'VE COME OVER

Looking out the door
I see the rain fall upon the funeral mourners
Parading in a wake of sad relations
As their shoes fill up with water
And maybe I'm too young
To keep good love from going wrong
But tonight you're on my mind so
(You'll never know)

I'm broken down and hungry for your love
With no way to feed it
Where are you tonight?
Child, you know how much I need it.
Too young to hold on
And too old to just break free and run

Sometimes a man gets carried away,
When he feels like he should be having his fun
And much too blind to see the damage he's done
Sometimes a man must awake to find that, really,
He has no-one...

So I'll wait for you... And I'll burn oh
Will I ever see your sweet return,
Oh, will I ever learn
Lover, you should've come over
'Cause it's not too late.

Lonely is the room the bed is made
The open window lets the rain in
Burning in the corner is the only one
Who dreams he had you with him
My body turns
And yearns for a sleep that will never come
It's never over,
My kingdom for a kiss upon her shoulder
It's never over,
All my riches for her smiles when I slept so soft against her...
It's never over,
All my blood for the sweetness of her laughter
It's never over,
She is the tear that hangs inside my soul forever
Maybe I'm just too young
To keep good love from going wrong
Oh... lover you should've come over...
'Cause it's not too late...

I feel too young to hold on
I'm much too old to break free and run
Too deaf, dumb, and blind
To see the damage I've done
Sweet lover, you should've come over
Oh, love I waited for you

Lover, you should've come over
'Cause it's not too late

And I agree. cloud9 (and I have to post the lyrics now. I'm really into lyrics lately. lol )

Twenty-nine pearls in your kiss, a singing smile,
coffee smell and lilac skin, your flame in me.
Twenty-nine pearls in your kiss, a singing smile,
coffe smell and lilac skin, your flame in me.
I'm only here for this moment.
I know everybody here wants you.
I know everybody here thinks he needs you.
I'll be waiting right here just to show you

How our love will blow it all away.
Such a thing of wonder in this crowd,
I'm a stranger in this town, you're free with me.
And our eyes locked in downcast love, I sit here proud,
Even now you're undressed in your dreams with me.

I'm only here for this moment.
I know everybody here wants you.
I know everybody here thinks he needs you.
I'll be waiting right here just to show you
How our love will blow it all away.

I know the tears we cried have dried on yesterday
The sea of fools has parted for us
there's nothing in our way, my love

Don't you see, don't you see?
You're just the torch to put the flame
to all our guilt and shame,
And I'll rise like an ember in your name.
I know, I know,
I know everybody here wants you.
I know everybody here thinks he needs you.
I'll be waiting right here just to show you
Let me show that love can rise, rise just like
embers.
Love can taste like the wine of the ages, babe.
And I know they all look so good from a distance,
But I tell you I'm the one.
I know everybody here thinks he needs you,
thinks he needs you
And I'll be waiting right here just to show you.

Ooh, Love's Train is a good one. The horninest you feel when you can't be with the one you want to at that moment, the anticipation of feeling that person's.....redface I'm not alone, am I?

Just heard "Love's Train" on the radio at work today, I friggin' heart that song!
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.
