Janet's "Put Your Hands On"

I know it's been discussed here before, but let me just say I love this song! It's amazing, and I've loved it from the second I've heard it. It was definitely a mistake not to put this on Damita Jo; it's only on the Japanese version and the All Nite(Don't Stop) maxi-single. I'd even go so far as to say it's in my Janet "Top 25". It's got a real chill, laid back sexiness to it that kinda reminds me of "That's the Way Love Goes".

musicPut Your Hands Onmusic

The ball without the game,
The link without the chain,
A face without a name,
No need to be ashamed.

So here we are baby,
We both know it's feelin' crazy
I dare you to stop at nothing tonight.
Oooh-oh, you're walkin' a tight rope,
Why don't you wanna let go
And fall into the sublime...
You got this fear of flyin'.

My body's on fire,
I think it's about that time ya
Let it go into overdrive
Oooh-oh, don't you wanna taste it?
Touch it and stimulate it?
'Til I can feel it deep inside...
Don't be so uptight.
(You know it feels right)

If your energy explodes all in me,
Well, just indulge in pleasure,
Set our bodies free.
Get lost in all of this love,
Soft to the touch.
I'm every inch a woman,
Don't be shy to feel me, come on.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, put your hands on.

It's cool to be shy, but,
Don't let it pass you by, just,
Give up and let your senses go.
Oooh-oh, ya know I wanna feel ya,
Come here a little nearer,
And let the fantasy unfold.
Need no control.

If your energy explodes all in me,
Well, just indulge in pleasure,
Set our bodies free.
Get lost in all of this love,
Soft to the touch.
I'm every inch a woman,
Don't be shy to feel me, come on.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, put your hands on.

I missed all the B-sides and remixes. I was satisfied with the LP.

Virgin edited the tracklisting a lot from the way Janet wanted it which is why DJ sucked monkey balls and all the good track were vaulted...

Well, that's just lame of them. I love this one and Could This Be Love a lot. I also heard Pops Up. Wasn't too impressed with that one, but 2 outta 3 ain't bad. biggrin

PYHO gets points simply because Anders Bagge produced it. All of his productions ("All Nite (Don't Stop)" and "SloLove") were quality.

For me, "Could This Be Love" and "Love Me (Just Blaze)" were my favorite non-album tracks from the DJ era.

Lots of fans put Just Blaze between commas just to distinguish it from "Just A Little While."

BTW -- to anyone reading -- "Love Me" IS NOT A REMIX of "Just A Little While," it's an original recording.

"SloLove" makes me feel so cleansed. Something about the groove and the instrumentation of that song. It has this kinetic, crystalized energy to it that is just so refreshing.

(You can tell I listen to this a lot) LOL.
