some good choices there

thumbs up!

i wish more people would take note of Chad van Gaalen's
album "infiniheart" though because i'm sure it would be
in many peole's top lists if they'd just heard it.

Nope- they got it right! wink

The Decemberists appear at number 24 on the list, so they weren't forgotten.

Metacritic.com which tracks record reviews from major publications and websites has a slightly different list:

2. Z by My Morning Jacket - 89
3. Wearemonster by Isolée - 88
4. Hypermagic Mountain by Lightning Bolt - 88
5. The Woods by Sleater-Kinney - 87
6. I Am A Bird Now by Antony And The Johnsons - 87
7. Arular by M.I.A. - 87
8. Minimum-Maximum [Live] by Kraftwerk - 85
9. Thunder, Lightning, Strike by The Go! Team - 85

Acclaimedmusic uses metacritic in its rating system. It also takes into account the number of reviews an album receives, whereas metacritic does not.

Acclaimedmusic also includes year-end lists, while metacritic does not. Metacritic also favors indie releases over big-name releases in both the number of reviews and inclusion in general.

I don't mean to harp on metacritic because I do visit it frequently, but I don't find it as complete as Acclaimedmusic.

Yeah, I think on Metacritic, an album only needs seven reviews to be listed.

Most of them are pretty obscure. You may know M.I.A.'s "Galang" or LCD Soundsystem's "Daft Punk Is Playing in My House", but those are pretty obscure too.

Maybe I watch too much Subterranean on MTV, but I've heard at least one song/seen at least one video from almost all those records. I didn't think they were that obscure. shrug

Sorry, that would be the exception. I don't think I've ever seen a Sufjan Stevens video on Subterranean.

Don't you get the feeling that Kanye has a mirror over his bed yet uses a separate room for sex.
