Songs that sound great on club soundsystems

:::

Have you ever heard a song on the radio or on your headphones and it's okay, but when you hear it on a huge, booming club or event soundsystem it sounds amazing?

List some of those tracks here.

:::

Some tracks that sound off the hook when they are played with loud bass and a heavy a** soundsystem...

Mariah :: It's Like That (feat. JD & Fatman Scoop) (2005)
I heard this while at a taping of a Comedy Central show and the song was literally knockin' on the soundstage speakers. The bass in this s**t be knockin' though (not "bumpin'," but "KNOCKIN'"), I'm not even gonna front -- when she starts off with, "I came to have a party" -- you have to groove. My brother was with me at the show and he was like, "D*mn, I didn't know these mainstream radio songs could bump like that."

Lady Sovereign :: Hoodie (2005)
Grime music sounds so hard when you hear it at the club. "Hoodie" is one of those jams that has deep, throbbing, almost relentless bass. So many decibels are in this track. This song could blow out your speakers if you turned it up loud enough. I love to stand next to a speaker at a function when this song comes on -- feel all that wind!

David Morales :: How Would You Feel? [with vocals by Lea-Lorien] (2004)
You have to listen to this song in a cavernous disco to get the full effect. It's almost transcendental.

Madonna :: Hung Up (2005)
Now, this song is straight-up jammin' when you play it loud with a bass heavy system. It's almost like this song is not done proper justice if you don't play it with a state-of-the-art soundsystem. The part when the groove breaks down is so hard -- you can *feel* the walls and doors rattle -- I love songs like that! This song was designed to be played in a big club.

Petey Pablo :: Freek-A-Leek (2003)
Yeah, this song is old news now, but when you hear it at a club *with a good soundsystem* you can feel the quad in it. Not just bass... QUAD. It reminds me of the old school bass records that used to come out of Florida in the early 90s (Magic Mike, Shy D, 69 Boyz, 95 South -- that whole music scene).

Prince - Loose!

i had a dj friend play it after closing hours and it totally
rocked the roof off. then he played it again, followed by an
array of gold/come songs like Dolphin, Gold and Interactive.
but none rocked as hard as Billy Jack Bitch, man i never did
imagine that song could sound so fantastic.

one can only dream about how these songs sound when prince,
in his own studio, plays them for people.

drool
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

And yeah I noticed the difference in the Mariah and Madonna songs on a system with good bass.

Yep. You know what, this escapes a lot of people's minds, but the entire Crunk sound that's so popular nowadays owes its entire lifeblood to Bass and Quad music. Lot of folks forget that Lil Jon used to be some minor dude in Atlanta making bass/booty records before he became the King of Ca-RUNK!

So true. Although to Lil Jon's credit, he did mention the history of bass music in his Scratch magazine feature.
