Marvin gaye help Hi,
I have a really old Marvin Gaye video. I think it is a Motown produced documentary (circa mid/late 80's). Overall the video is not that great. Although, there are two sections of the program that move me deeply. These are - 1) His moving motown anniverary speech whilst sat at the white piano 2) his performance of distant lover, again, alone at a piano in a rehersal room in belgium (its a 20 second snippet!!). my question is this - Do these two performances exist in a full audio version anywhere? legally of course Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's called Motown 25.
You could also check youtube.com and they may have the full performances on there. I'll do a search to find out about the Belgium one. [Edited 2/12/06 8:52am]

Are you referring to the DVD Marvin Gaye Live in Montreux?

Only the first is from the Motown 25.
The other is from a documentary about his staying in Europe, before making a comeback in the early 80's. /peace Manki

I also found a DVD called Marvin Gaye: The Real Thing. It makes mention of a concert in Belgium.

...
There's a Marvin documentary on a DVD called "Searching Soul" that contains the european documentary footage, including marvin at the piano, by himself on a soundstage, running through a medley of his hits: "Come Get To This" turns briefly into Distant Lover, and he eventually goes back into "Come Get to This" it also includes the footage where he goes into the old church, and sings the Lord's Prayer...
