Personally, I don't trust anyone's ears over my own. Not Prince's nor anyone else's.
That being said, I think Beyonce is damn good as a performer and a vocalist. Voices are personal taste but there is no merit to anyone saying she can't sing. Some don't like her technique or tone; that's understandable, but she CAN sing. She's annoying to some because she's overexposed. If she weren't, people would simply ignore her like they do other female singers with less exposure. Because she's a big bankroll to her label, that's not gonna happen. They will keep her "in yo face" until people can't stand her for one more second. Then they'll bring out a new chick for everyone to hate including Beyonce.  That's how the game goes. | |

There's no question the girl can sing & sing WELL. It's her style that's annoying - she likes the vocal acrobatics more than she likes/trusts the melody, that's my problem w/ her. But no doubt she has an amazing voice, I just wish she'd use it more to MY liking...   I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! I don't think my lips ever spoke the actual word "Beyonce" until Prince lowered himself to perform with her in 2004. Before that, her name was just automatically included in the group of countless other dead asses from the year 1990 to the present that are too many to name individually.

If you have actual proof P just wanted to be in the spotlight and just hired the current "Hottie of the Day" then prove it. You can't. In fact, during the Grammys rehearsal, P said that B was one of only a handful of singers that knew how to do their "runs" the correct way as they warmed up. P's no fool. He won't let any weak voices come up and him spotlight them. He'd look dumb if he got Carmen Electra or Apples up there. P IS the spotlight when he shows up. Name an artist that can upstage P...MJ?
