I want to like her, but for some reason she justs annoys me. Everytime I see her on an interview, hear one of her songs, or seeing her in a movie, she just gets on my nerves. Is there a reason for this that I am overlooking? Or am I alone?

i have similar feelings towards Mariah. i admit she is fantastically talented...but she still annoys me!!

I think it might be the "over-exposure." It might also be a taste thing, because I don't care for her singing voice. I think she is kind of "over-hyped" also.
Now like I said, I do want to like her, because she seems like such a nice and sweet girl on interviews (that I have caught) but, it just kind of is like, there are nice and sweet girls that work at Wal-Mart, and they don't have MTV/BET/Radio Stations hyping them up every day of the week that ends in Y!

Eye candy indeed! It's just a shame that "ugly" girls who can sing way better than her do not get the same chance she had due to their looks.

No, even if it was her, she has spin-people who would prevent that from being as big as Ashlee Simpson on SNL. Maybe if Pink Panther bombs, people will get that she isn't all she is "hyped" up to be. However, I doubt it will. Steve Martin could probably make a movie about "Troy" look funny, with the right amount of physical comedy. if not for that fact, and that they(D-Child) are all over Mcdonald's for some reason, i wouldn't give her or the other two a second thought.

Everyone's got their own celebrity nemesis. Beyonce's a little over-exposed, but she doesn't bother me since she has some talent, even if she's not the greatest singer in the world.

Now as for the truly untalented "celebrities" (Yes, I'm talking to you Paris Hilton & Nicole Richie), my life would be just a little bit better if I didn't have to see them every week for no apparent reason other than their last names.

I don't like how she personally trumps herself up being a "songwriter". She once said she was most proud about having written and produced X amount of #1 hits (however many she's had). Somehow I think her input wasn't the most prominent in those hits, especially the production side.
