i was watching The fighting temptations today and damn! that bitch couldn't act her way out of a paper bag . i remember seeing the carmen- a hip hopera and thinking the same thing. im just waiting to see "pink Panther" to see what oscar worthy performance she will deliver

The Carmen movie was her worst. She was not very believable at all. I don't think she takes acting very seriously. It's just another way to make a few extra bucks.

well, i see it this way. Beyonce tends to take movies parts in which you can act like herself in. Elusive, "sexy", a singer, a "nice/naughty" girl. I mean, she seems like she cant really transfer herself ino a real role. Stupid public buys it.

Too bad "Pink Panther" came out this year instead of over the summer like it was supposed to (and you know that's a sign that it's really good and the studio has high expectations for it!). She'll have to wait next year for all the Academy Awards to roll in.

With Boris, do you think part of his acting crisis is due to the fact that he's, well, you know, foreign? There are very few European blacks that translate well into American English acting unless they're from Britain because they're more connected to the culture of the US by a kind of cultural osmosis....I've always found that my Black German "artiste" friends that reside here always have a kind of disconnect because of the language divide and some really stark cultural differences that prohibit them from really "losing themselves" into their music, film roles, etc....

oh and yes i did see "The Gospel" which is how i ended up with my conclusion of his acting skills...Idris Elba wasn't that good in it neither, which was surprising because he's pretty good in the HBO show "The Wire"...but then again, everybody can play a drug dealer...
