"Black Sweat" is the hardest shit the man has done in a while...It has a two-fisted energy about it that hasn't been heard in his music since "Get Off"...I think if people take it for what it is (a straight-ahead new-age funk workout for the masses) and not judge it on a lack of rock guitar or a so called "melody" (like "Irresistable Bitch" and "Kiss" had a melody???)...people would allow themselves to dig it...But to each it's own...

We are all intitled to our own opinion. I thought the song would be alot better than what it turned out to be. I dig the video. The beat and the groove is slamin'. But the song overal, the lyrics are not as complexed as Prince woulda put years ago and his voice.

I dunno y'all.

If "Black Sweat" is what he played just a minute ago on SNL, I'd have to say some of y'all are crazy for dogging that song.

Unless the recorded version blows.
