Beyonce is a dreadful actress!!! i was watching The fighting temptations today and damn! that bitch couldn't act her way out of a paper bag . i remember seeing the carmen- a hip hopera and thinking the same thing. im just waiting to see "pink Panther" to see what oscar worthy performance she will deliver "Americans consume the most fast food than any nation on Earth and the stupid motherfuckers wonder why they are so fat? The Carmen movie was her worst. She was not very believable at all. I don't think she takes acting very seriously. It's just another way to make a few extra bucks.

[Edited 2/1/06 18:55pm] You're so right. It always trip me out when people dog out Beyounce. They criticize her acting like it really mattered. Some even impugn her vocal talents like it made a difference. It doesn't, people. The entertainment industry went through a paradigm shift in the 90's. Stardom, consequently, is no longer about talent and creativity but aesthetics and marketability. Bearing that in mind, Beyounce is a perfect vehicle for making money. She is eye candy that can sing and dance. That's more than I can say for a lot of her peers. Since when did acting become such a big deal. It never bothered Keanu Reeves...

she can't even make it through a ten second commercial, why would someone cast her in a movie?

well, i see it this way. Beyonce tends to take movies parts in which you can act like herself in. Elusive, "sexy", a singer, a "nice/naughty" girl. I mean, she seems like she cant really transfer herself ino a real role. Stupid public buys it. &

Did you see Boris in the movie "The Gospel"? I'm sorry but I gotta tell the truth. That movie might've been a lot better had they had someone else with some acting skills play his part. He was NOT very believable at all. Boris is one lucky cat though. Cause Nicole Arie Parker is FINE!!!!![Edited 2/1/06 18:55pm]

Too bad "Pink Panther" came out this year instead of over the summer like it was supposed to (and you know that's a sign that it's really good and the studio has high expectations for it!). She'll have to wait next year for all the Academy Awards to roll in.

[Edited 2/1/06 18:55pm] With Boris, do you think part of his acting crisis is due to the fact that he's, well, you know, foreign? There are very few European blacks that translate well into American English acting unless they're from Britain because they're more connected to the culture of the US by a kind of cultural osmosis....I've always found that my Black German "artiste" friends that reside here always have a kind of disconnect because of the language divide and some really stark cultural differences that prohibit them from really "losing themselves" into their music, film roles, etc....

Not hate, jealousy. Theyr'e not jealous over her acting per se. But about everything else. She's gorgeous, can sing, dance and has a million dollars. With so much going for her, people love it when she bombs at something. That's not a dis to anyone on the board, it's just human nature. It's true Beyounce can't act. But she doesnt' need too, people. Beyounce is a member of the celebritocracy. She gets hired because she's marketable which is more than I can say for most of us...

When Janet Jackson was cast in Poetic Justice, The producers thought that she was'nt street enough. So what they did was made her live with some real sisters from the hood 24/7 Which helped her out a lot for that role. Maybe Boris should hang out with 50 cent and G-Unit so he can get that blackness in him With Boris, do you think part of his acting crisis is due to the fact that he's, well, you know, foreign? I HEAR U, CHILE! I'M over here living with a lot of German blacks, who because of our physical similarities, feel akin to our culture in the US. The truth is, because most of them are half African or half black-American (descendants of WW2 soldiers), there are a lot of similarities bewteen us ...but ultimately, until they have they opportunity to really LIVE in the midst of the cultural experience in the States, sometimes it's hard for them to catch on to all of the cultural nuances. I know Boris has lived in and been part of the black US culture for a while now, but whenever you see him here in his homeland, it's very clear that he is a middle class Bavarian with Alpine roots...(if you had to compare the cultures, think of this sector of German society as being the upper middle class demographic of say, Charlston. NOW WHERE IS THE STREET IN THAT??? He needs some street lessons from Creflo Dollar's half-brother Fiddy.....an 'nem.....

Yeah. Either that or they asked him to tone down his acting skill as not to upstage the star. Y'know. It's kinda like bridesmaids wearing ugly dresses so the bride would look more glamourous.
