Where to start with: Cat Stevens?

If I were to buy a Cat Stevens album, what would be a good starting point?

I don't own any of his music, although I'm obviously familiar with Father And Son and Wild World, not that that means I should get the album with those songs on.

As a reference point, I listen to a lot of early Paul Simon, late Beatles, etc. - good, well-written acoustic music.

I like the Movie Harold and Mod as a starting point.
News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.
You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

Agreed. I've been a fan of Cat ever since I was 8. Have all of his albums. Ran a thread on here awhile back on his wonderful songs "Wild World" and "Peace Train". Both times, the threads were shown hardly any love. I figured nobody on here dug Cat, which I found surprising. Anyway, I happen to REALLY dig his album "Numbers".

nammie "What BGZ says I believe. I have the biggest crush on him."

Get the 2-disc "Gold" compilation, i think that will give you a good impression, and you also get my favorite Cat
Stevens song, "(I never wanted) to be a star"
