No, she's just a Nordic woman. That's how they all are alike, I don't see anything different in the behaviour on the clip than what I see here on every street corner on a daily basis.

And I could write a big long response to this as well, but I doubt I'd say it any more succinctly or clearly than Anx.

I have all of her albums, and will continue to buy them. What I find more disturbing about that clip is the fact that no one mentions that the reporter had been stalking her and her son for days.

Yeah, she is a nut. But I do like her a lot. She's a great artist.

There was absolutely no excuse for attacking that woman. So what, she was irritating her. But hey, we all make violent, crazed mistakes from time to time.

i don't know...would you consider a classically trained musician who has composed orchestral scores and a capella compositions to be "skilled" or "refined"?

I never understood her singing. It always seems out of rhythm to me, although I do enjoy some of her songs. And I like her as a person. Once saw an interview with her and loved it. She´s sooooo inteligent.

I'm guessing you're referring to Bjork. Not being familiar with her material I can't comment on her specifically.
(nor was my original comment aimed at her)

Mine was a general defense of the traditional artist that does what they do very well but doesn't have what might be considered a weird/odd persona. No one in particular.

I will say that i've heard classically trained musicians that sound like lifeless robots although they've attained the skill of being able to read and write music.

This should go on our list of things to talk about in NYC. cool

Definitely. And until then, I'd just offer the thought that she may not consider her work weird or purposefully 'provocative' for the sake of its own spectacle. I'd go so far as to wonder what people in Iceland think of her music...maybe they wouldn't even bat an eye. My point is, I think she really believes in what she does, and her music is true to her imagination. Lord knows she's not being weird to sell records...i'd be surprised if her last album sold over 10,000 copies (2005's "Drawing Restraint", that is). But it's what she wanted to do. shrug

In fact I've heard her say the very words that she hates "weird for the sake of being weird."

I believe there was an episode of 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' about that. Specifically when the character Data learned to play classical music.
