TIP: Arctic Monkeys - 'Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not'

OK, this album is being hyped as one of the best debutes ever over here in Europe, I am just getting into it.....very catchy!

What do you say? Don't believe the hype?

I'd say, go check this album out if you're a bit into alternative rock!

I have not been this excited about a band's potential in a long time.

These kids are writing very, very good songs.

For 19 year olds who have been playing intruments for four years, they are scary good.

Alex Turner has a keen ear for melody and is writing great lyrics. The band sounds great live, as well.

You can hear flashes of british rock history throughout this album, but none of it sounds dirivative.

To my ears, A Certain Romance is a perfect britpop song.

If they keep their heads together, I think these guys can go a very long way.

All of their demos (and some live stuff) can be legally downloaded here: http://www.mardy-bum.com/?page=music

I like some of these songs better than the album versions (mardy bum) and some of my favorites didn't make the album or have only been released as b-sides (bigger boys and stolen sweethearts, waving bye to the train or the bus)

try it, it's catchy! I just hope they won't suffer too much from the hype, like Franz Ferdinand did.....

Nightcrawler

It´s a very good album, but I prefered the debuts from Franz Ferdinand, The Strokes, Kaiser Chiefs, Maximo Park, The Libertines and others by far.
See the man with the blue guitar, maybe one day he`ll be a star...
