The Addams Family! The film The Addams Family is on--I'd almost forgotten how much I loved this movie! Christina Ricci as Wednesday, Angelica Huston as Morticia. The dry, sick sense of humor...
Oh wait--I'd better try to make this about Prince so it doesn't get locked! Ok, actually, Prince during his Graffiti Bridge days would've fit in just fine looks-wise and clothing-wise! And since this is Music: Non Prince--how 'bout that MC Hammer theme song to The Addams Family? [This message was edited Sun Jun 30 18:42:35 PDT 2002 by AnotherLoverHoleinYoHead]

Anything with Christina Ricci in is compulsory viewing in this house (except maybe for Caspar!). Buffalo 66 was great!

I still haven't seen that yet... I just read a semi-disturbing interview with her in Vogue though, where she said if she wasn't an actress she'd want to be a "trophy wife", sitting around wearing Versace and jewels. She also has a history of anorexia...I never thought she'd be that superficial and hung-up, I suppose!

If I was you (at least for a day) I wouldn't take what she said in Vogue too seriously (a Vogue reading feminist? Cool!). She was probably just being wickedly ironic and post-modern Or are you implying that all women with a history of anorexia are superficial and hung up? I'd be disappointed if you really thought that (see your own reply to Suby re R. Kelly!).

I'd be disappointed if you really thought that (see your own reply to Suby re R. Kelly!). Are you implying that women who read Vogue can't be feminists? I also have subscriptions to Vanity Fair, Marie Claire and Elle. I wear dresses, skirts, low-cut blouses, stockings. I shave my legs and under my arms and my "bikini line". The author of the article didn't hint at any tongue-in-cheek, ironic intent on Ricci's part at that comment. And, NO, I am not implying that all anorexic women are superficial and hung up--but I'd say a wealthy actress with an obsession for clothing and jewelry, who brags about wearing a size 0, just might be. Of course, you are perfectly welcome to be disappointed in me, no matter what I say or believe or think. But I am not a "pathetic female and human being", which was my response to what suby had to say in re: R Kelly. You Americans are just sooo literal sometimes. You really think that I think that a feminist can't wear what she likes and read what she likes... etc etc? Man, you don't get me at all. And you claim to love a "dry, sick sense of humour". Huh?

Obviously, the written word has its limitations--especially where humor is concerned. In my opinion, "dry" and "sick" humor doesn't translate so well in writing, unless the reader is well-acquainted with the writer. At the risk of adding fuel to the (almost extinguished) fire, here's my version of a private dispute with AnotherLover. I just want to get this out of my system so I can concentrate on work. Anyway, AnotherLover and I started to exchange a few pleasant Orgnotes, and then the following occurred. She asked me who I was, etc. I replied thus
"I'm the Mysterious Stranger. I'm not a real person. I don't exist, etc. Anything else ya wanna know? [anyone spot the Swans/Angels of Light allusions??] She replied "Oh, how very banal...sigh..." Anyway, I then saw this AddamsFamily thread, and in my usual solipsistic way I wondered 'Is the comment "I never thought she'd be that superficial and hung-up, I suppose!" somehow a sly curveball at me?' (these exchanges were roughly contemporary). So, anyway, I thought (in a not very, but slightly serious way) 'O.k. Missy, I'll fire a shot in your direction - I might even get a mock fight out of it'. AnotherLover then took umbrage... I tried to apologize, apparently to little effect. I'm just kinda sad, because it usually takes me slightly more than 24 hours to flush a potential friendship down the toilet!

The Addams Family film was kinda cool.
But the sequel, Addams Family Values was brilliant! Still makes me laugh. Mal-i-bu Bar-bie

Holy shit, you thought my remark about Christina Ricci was somehow a secretly coded message to you?! Why in the world would you think anyone else here would be interested in this angst? Your explanation does nothing to clarify matters, either. This is definitely ORGNOTE material, not for the threads.

[this post is almost certainly a very bad idea, but I just cannot resist]
Anotherlover said Holy shit, you thought my remark about Christina Ricci was somehow a secretly coded message to you?!
Well, it was in a reply to one of my posts. And you'd just told me how disappointingly banal one of my Orgnotes was. Christ, I only thought it was vaguely possible, not 'likely'. Fucken hell, I should have known this was a bad idea. I wasn't expecting the Spanish Inquisition Why in the world would you think anyone else here would be interested in this angst?
Honestly, I thought you had implied in an Orgnote the equivalent of 'don't call me anymore you asshole'. So I didn't. I just thought the whole thing was an unfortunate misunderstanding, but it was bugging me and I thought I could clear it up. This seemed like the only suitable place (and you'd be amazed what some Orgers can get interested in). Like sorry an' all for caring or anything (this is starting to get creepy - I'll hit it and quit).

I'd love to see you and WellBeyond go at it, actually. Hmmm, "The Org AnalyzeFest"...

Not to worry, my comment had nothing to do with any difference of opinion narcy and I have...
