That's my fave from him. That's a great tune. Most folks know him for the uptempo stuff. But he could also really squall a ballad. I got to see him perform at a show in the late '60s. Also on the bill... Mitch Ryder & the Detroit Wheels Cream The Who The Young Rascals The Mandala The Blues Project Phil Ochs Simon & Garfunkel The Blues Magoos Jan and Dean The Guess Who (and some others that I can't remember) ...all for a whopping $3.50! tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 that was the Murray the K Swingin 'soiree gig right?

Dammitt, everyone's leaving these days. I hate to turn on the news these days because every time I do, another celebrity dies. Anyway, rest in peace "Wicked" Pickett. Andy is a four letter word.

I'm sure younger artists like Anthony Hamilton were influenced by him. A great singer. He will be missed.

one of the first songs i ever learned to play was Mustang Sally and even tho it's kinda shunned as a cheesy beginners song, i would stioll play the shiz outta that song.

RIP Mr Pickett. Only by the foolish. I've yet to see a "beginner" with the ability to accurately nail the groove and atmosphere of the Wilson Pickett arrangement. Many may think because of the simple chord progression that it's easy to play. It's very easy to play wrong. Unfortunately i've heard cover bands do it too many times. And let's not even get into the vocal performance. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn.
