Whitney!! Whitney!!! Whitney!!!

Btw,did you guys know that Celine Dion and Madonna are DISTANT COUSINS?? Yep,they're related.

Whitney (when she's in top form) is the best performer of the three. Not that she can do the most vocal acrobatics... ... in fact, PRECISELY. Because what is strange with the crop of singers we've had for over a decade is that their acrobatics are not matched by really personal interpretations. I used to think Whitney was going to be one of the greatest... after she went through some major trials and tribulations. Well, at least now there's certainly this potential in her case and in Mariah's, though in Mariah's case, I seriously doubt she has the depth to make it work. As for Celine... well.. she can awe you, but her material is too nutrasweet in English.

And hey, I may just be Celine's distant cousin as well.smile

Yeah I tripped on that too, whoever said that clearly didn't take a listen at 'Outside' 'Thw whole daydream' 'Never 4get U' 'The whole Music box' 'the 1st lp'.

PPL don't try 2 follow everybod's lead you might get lost at the end!!

Most definately Whitney Houston...she has the soul and the stamina in her voice. She can belt out a tune almost without any effort...amazing!

Mariah Carey has a beautiful voice, and has soul...but doesn't use it as strongly as Whitney, and lately her voice is almost a shadow of it's former self.

Celine Dion...has a very powerful voice, and it is pretty...but I seriously can't stand the bitch! So my dislike of her clouds my perception of her voice...so, fuck her and her "old" man!

What about Christina Aguilera? While she is still young, she has an incredible voice and actually blows away a lot of the talent around her age...and older! I predict she'll still b here in 20 or so yrs. still blowing us away.

SensualMelody

All three are talented, but if they
were all in a room full of people and
asked to just come up and sing without
rehersal, music background, or anything,
Whitney would whip their butts!

Celine is French-Canadian, Madonna has both italian and french-canadian lineage. A lot of French-Canadians immigrated to the US in the late 19th century, typically to work in New England's textile factories. The small French article I read on the Madonna-Canada connection mentionned that her ancestor was part of that immigration wave.

David will surely fill you in on the precise genealogy.

Yeah..okay. That makes more sense. smile

Just like the Whitney Houston is Aretha Franklin's niece and Dionne Warwicks cousin.

But, I'm sure DavidEye will fill me in with more than enough details...such is the way of the world! lol

That is so true! Her voice is the most unforggetable among all those male and female popstars! She needs to keep on singing.

Christina Aguilera can really sing.I've heard her do a song with Brian McKnight, and a nice version of the old Etta James classic "At Last".She just needs to GROW UP a little, throw on some more clothes, and sing mature, meaningful songs for once. The advance word is that her upcoming CD will showcase her singing a little more effectively.

Thanks Aero for explaining the Madonna/Celine Dion thing. It's really complex, but yes, they are distant relatives.Madonna is actually half-Canadian/French(on her mother's side) and half-Italian (on her father's side).Could you imagine the two of them singing each other's songs?...lol...

But HOW??? You must have read something that stated which relative they have in common to come up with them being distant cousins. Just because someone half French-Canadian doesn't mean they're related to every damn French-Canadian in Canada. Hello??? How is it complex? It's propbably by marriage, that's why it's complex, huh?

Actually Aretha and Whitney aren't related by blood. Cissy Houston, Whitney's mother, used to sing background harmony on some of Aretha's material. Whitney used to watch Aretha work though, up close and personal.
This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.
