Ray of Light - still stunning, and easily her best album. A+

Confessions - nice to see the early madonna back, but far more musically mature. A-

Music - Good, but not quite confessions good. i agree with cinister, don't tell me is a stroke of genius. B

American Life - i think it gets a bad rap. yes, it's not that good, but there are some gems. "nothing Fails" gets HEAVY rotation on my i-pod, and is one of my all time fave Mo songs. B-

Here's a clearer view of these albums:

Ray of Light- A stroke of genius. Alot of the music has a very organic feel to it, and it's also the album that's responsible for introducing pop music to techno and trance.

Music- I like it, but it's a little inconsistant. Half the songs are hard dance songs, and the rest are folktronica songs. It seems like she didnt exactly know which road to take. Had she stuck to the dance concept thoroughly, she would have had a classic

American Life- I liked this album, but I can understand why many dislike it. I think many were not used to Madonna singing full on folktronica, as the album only had very little dance songs. Though there were some true gems like "Nothing Fails" and "Love Profusion", the rest of the album took some getting used to

Confessions on a Dance Floor- I love this album. It's easily her most consistant outing in years. In this one, Madonna manages to bring in old school dance and mix it with modern day dance music. I think it's the album that Music could have been

There are some good things going on. I think Gwen tapped most of the worthy U.S. talent. But she could do something extremely stripped down and soulful. I think more than the style of music, I would like to see her do an entire album with a real band. All the songs could be different as far as I'm concerned. Maybe along the lines of a more upbeat Sade.

I wouldn't mind if she worked with Jamiroquai. They have a cool, retro R&B/disco sound that would suit Madonna just perfectly.Remember those guys called JuniorSenior? I think she could do a kickass dance track with them.

I don't know how many times I've seen you mention them. It's going to get to the point where even Madge will log on and say "Enough already! Okay, okay, I'll work with them David!". lol

Just kidding, of course. smile

My order:

1. Ray of Light
2. Confessions on A Dance Floor
3. Music
4. American Life

I still think it's a bit too early to say where I rank COAD; but 'Ray...' will always be #1 and 'American Life' at #4.

I wonder whatever happened to JuniorSenior? "Move Your Feet" is one of the best dance songs from 2003 and their album is excellent....fun,catchy electropop jams that sizzle!

lol You love them!

Not sure, sorry. I'm not into them but the last I heard is that they had a new album coming out. But that was a while back.
