Too much of a snob to pick ANYTHING commercial (unless it's U2, because they are also political and I can still like them ) check out the top picks at www.pitchforkmedia.com, and also the chicago reader's top music pics for 2005. SNOB-O-RAMA. if i like obscure stuff, it's because someone has turned me on to it or because it's something i read about or checked out in a wrecka stow...i don't have any investment in being seen as someone who listens to music that nobody else knows about, nor do i think music loses value with popularity. unfortunately, i live in a city with a music scene that prizes obscurity as a form of credibility. music snobs abound in chicago. That's the same way I feel, except I don't live in a big city like Chicago. I think I'd much rather deal with music snob than the majority of the people I'm around some of the time. People who just like whatevers on the radio looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

Music snob? HAH. You probably don't even want to be called a music snob. However, if you do try to call yourself a music snob, don't. Ever again. Or else some actual music snob will come after you, and that won't be very pretty!
Jeez, you would think thesexofit took my test.

That buzzing synth line in the middle of the song intrigues me, though. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! You're on a date with someone, and everything is going great. This person could be your soulmate! Then all of the sudden, they pop in a CD and it's [insert name of popular band]. You:

You no longer listen to the radio
I don't even have a radio. You spend way too much money on imports.
What imports? The vast majority of the records I buy come straight from the record companies to my mailbox. Import that. You go to a record store with actual records
Hard to escape that in Northern Europe. You no longer watch award shows
No, if America's Next Top Model or some other quality programme is on, no I don't. Arcade Fire is mainstream
Of course it is. How could it be anything else? You Know the Tracklisting of every album from your favorite artist
I don't even know half of the track titles from my favourite artists. They're always printed on too small fonts in too dark colours and hidden somewhere inside the leaflet and I'm always too lazy to dig them when I want listen to goddamn INSTRUMENTAL music.

A real snob prefers 'Kid A' because that one has no hits. edit - Now that I think about it, modern rock radio may have struggled to play "Optimistic". That was the closest thing to a single the album had. [Edited 1/13/06 9:26am]
