Worst video(s) I have seen by SOME of my favorite artist are:
Prince-Strollin (I dig the song, but the vid is crap) Bowie-Dancing in the Streets (ugh!) MJ-You rock my world (Smooth Criminal all over again) Hendrix-Dolly Dagger (The vid is downright horrifying. I like to visualize the classics, don't butcher them with cheesy choreography) IN regards to present day artists, the whole RKelly mini soap opera vids, the booty shaking, hyper masculine, pseudo player/gangsta thing, and the "new rock" groups of the past 5 or so years is like choosing between chicken pox, measles, and mumps. We have a virtual 20-way tie between all the power ballad videos put out by various hair bands in the 80’s (Great White, White Snake, White Lion, etc.). You know the kind: stock concert footage shoddily put together; images of unattractive adolescent whores hoping to get their chance back stage; the tight pleather pants, the make up, the heavily Aqua-Net or Rave sprayed hair – and that was just the guys; the obligatory slow-mo shot of a guitar solo, typically ending with a band member being doused in water and flinging his drenched mane back and forth.
