Sylvester (Rock the box)!

I just bought this cd on w him and it rocks! Musically it has an 80's electro/house feel to it with soulful vocals. He reminds me of Aretha Franklin at times. Anyone else dig him or this album?

Yeah, I love Sylvester, especially the work he did with the "Two Tons of Fun." He was considered disco, I guess, but he probably could have lasted a lot longer had he lived. ("You Are My Friend")

I heard that song and downloaded it (probably years ago and on my old computer). Awesome! Not sure about his other stuff. "You Make Me Feel" is pretty great but I tried a few other songs and wasn't wowed.

All of Sylvester's albums are classics. I'd advise you get them while you can on CD. With as far as the conservative pendulum is swinging, I wouldn't be surprised if they stopped re-issuing them.

Pat Robertson calls for burning of Sylvester Cds...I think quite a lot of them are out of print or only available as imports as it is.

Yeah they all seem pretty hard to find as it is. The rock the box album is some seriously jammin electro/house! You guys should try to get a hold of it.

Just bought a copy off Ebay. It was an international copy and the shipping was where most of the cost came from. It sounds good but I'm not sure if I'm interested in anything else from him but even if this album isn't any good, it's worth it just for the single.
