Can we show some love to the Gap Band?

I can't get enough of them. It's like my crack lately.

Oops upside your head/Said Oops upside your head. headbang headbang

I wanna know more about them. How big were they in their heyday? Anyone ever seen em live? What's the lead singer's name? Do they still perform???

Help! Thanks. lol

the gap band doesn't get at much recognition as their fellow funkateers, but believe me they were one of the baddest bands out there. the gap was composed of three brothers charlie(lead vocs/keyboards), ronnie (co-lead voc/keyboards/trumpet), and robert wilson (backgrnd voc/bass) from tulsa, oklahoma. i think they still tour occasionally but most recently charlie had out a solo album this year called "first name charlie, last name wilson". now since you like "oops upside your head", you should check out their 3rd album "gap band III". 'cause it has some of their best songs like "humpin", "burn rubber (why you wanna hurt me?)","the way", and the timeless classic "yearning for your love".

Gap Band is very under-rated! They were bad back in the day! I wish they would stage a comeback. But with radio being what it is, if you're over 30 -- forget it. No airplay...

I saw them live several years ago. They still put on a dynamic show. It's a shame that the lead singer Charlie Wilson is now doing some lame R-Kelly-produced solo bullshit disbelief

But in their heyday,The Gap Band were on fire!! Songs like "Humpin","Burn Rubber On Me","Yearning For Your Love","Early In The Morning","Outstanding","Stay With Me","Seasons No Reason To Change" and "Shake" are CLASSICS!

"You Dropped a Bomb on Me" is a permanent resident of my top 40 songs of all time. "Burn Rubber" and "Early in the Morning" aren't too far behind!

IV is a decent album, although not perfect. I just picked up III recently but have yet to listen.
