Sheryl Crow...do we like her?

I loved her first three albums. All near perfect. I was sorely disappointed with C'mon C'mon--too many AC ballads that sounded the same.
And her new album I bought and have yet to even open the dang thing. Not motivated at all to play it.
What do we think of her? Is she lame now?

I think she's lame now. She was at her best on Sheryl Crow (1996). I, too, hated C'mon, C'mon, and her new one is just "MEH". "Good Is Good" is so maudlin.

Amen. That album is the soundtrack to my sophomore high school year. She shoulda kept on in the funkier rock/pop direction.

agree, The Globe Sessions is a great album. I read somewhere alot of it was inspired by a little fling she had with Eric Clapton.

I really like "Good is Good". Possibly my favorite song of hers but I sampled the album...not so good. She's got a way with a pop rock song...She's good.

I definately like Sheryl Crow, the singer-songwriter, better than Sherl Crow, the dumb girlfriend of Lance Armstrong.

I am a big Sheryl Crow fan. Even of C'mon, C'mon.

But her latest album Wildflower is snoozeville . Uninspired , drab sounding . Good is Good is the peppiest tune. Funny because she says it is inspired by Lance and their wonderful relationship. Id be finding you a new man , Sheryl if this is what he inspires you to do.

I like a handful of her stuff. The "Sheryl Crow" album is her best, I like damn near every song on that mutha except 3 (Oh Marie, Superstar & The Book). The Globe Sessions only had "The Difficult Kind" & "My Favorite Mistake" that were good... fell off after that...
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart

I don't know if "we" like her, but I do. Her last two albums weren't great, but I think with her first three albums each one was better than the next. The Globe Sessions is a great rock album. There's so much good blues-based guitar work on there, and I put My Favorite Mistake on repeat when I listen to it. The keyboard on there is terrific. Riverwide is beautiful and haunting. I know it wasn't everyone's cup of tea, but I enjoyed her remake of Sweet Child O' Mine. It can't touch the original, but it was nice.

She's somewhere in the middle for me. Each of her songs would range between about a 3 and a 7, with the exception being "Good is Good" maybe getting an 8. She's never offensive to me, but she never really excites me either.

Yeah, when I listened to the samples I was surprised how bland the album seemed,,,no rockers! Still love "Good Is Good".
