M.I.A. - Arular

We come to the very end of the year, and I'm just now realizing how hot this album is. I can see why it's on alot of end of the year lists!

"Bucky Done Gun," "Fire Fire," "Galang," "10 Dollar," and "Bingo" are blowin' my mind right now. Anybody else got thoughts on this album?

It's not available in any of the stores near me, so I ended up having to download it. I'm definitely glad that I decided to! It's got so much raw energy, it's mind-boggling...

This group was the opening act for the Gwen Stefani tour which came to my city on November 18. Not bad at all.

This album was pretty good, but it didn't knock my socks off like it did for others. It might make my top 20 albums of the year, but not top 10.

smile yay.....a M.I.A thread. dancing jig She's working with Missy and Timbaland for her next album. I like Missy, but I hope it doesn't sound too much like Missy. She's on "Badman" from Missy's album, the Cookbook. smile "Fire Fire" and "Bingo" are actually my least favorite songs from Arular. My favorites are "Bucky Done Gun" "Hombre" (I like the acapella version too), "Pull Up the People" and "Sunshowers". Her album with Diplo is alright, only some of the songs stood out.... "China Girl" (I like this one better than the original "10$"), "Lady Killer" "URAQT".

M.I.A. is a hypocrite because her album was empowering for people who are oppressed under our capitalist society and she spoke of revolution and fighting against the institutions that oppress her people but then she sold her song, "Galang", to the Honda corporation. Sell out...

That shocked me too to hear "Galang" in that commercial.... but who said she actually had something to do with it though. It could've been completely out of her hands. Anyway.....her music still rocks.....and so do the Honda Civics. cool lol

Next you're gonna call Prince a sellout for letting Ford use "Little Red Corvette".
