Anyone know any songs that sample or use ringtones? Or any songs that refer to cellular phone activity? Please explain how or where in the song they are used. Thanks.

well, thanks. Feel free to use it! I'm working on a related project of designing a live ringtone soundtrack for a film, where the audience dials each other's cell phones during the performance. A sort improvisatory, audience-participation type deal.

But I've been doing research and there are MANY possibilities and not too much has been done with it. Check out the mp3 samples in the dialtone symphony link above. The descriptions and reviews of it are interesting too.

I really like the idea of having random, dissonant, cacaphonous, and inane ringtones going off at once. Chaos!!!!

I'm sure we could list off songs with beepers, and phones ringing, but that's not what you mean.
