Can Michael Jackson "Satisfy" Mariah Carey?

From my local newspaper gossip column...

Mariah Carey teams up with Michael Jackson on her new album
which is her first for Island Records. On a song entitled
"Satisfy",Michael lends backing vocals to the club/dance track which may be the first single.Sources say that Mariah and Michaels' voices go great together. The track "Satisfy" was written and produced by hit producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.

Mariah and Michael have lots in common these days. Both artists have "freed" themselves from the evil clutches of Tommy Mottola and his Sony empire. They've been friends for years, and in 1991,Mariah even covered the old Jackson 5 hit "I'll Be There".They were planning to do a song together for Michaels' recent 'Invincible' CD,but Mariah was too busy filming the 'Glitter' film.

Actually they did record 2gether shortly after Invincible's release, for the all star sept.11-single What More Can I Give (wich Sony refused 2 release btw). They also per4med this song (2gether with a bunch of others, but they had lead vocals) on the United We Stand/What More Can i Give charity concert. Hopefully JJ&TL can come up with some better songs than on the latest Janet album this time around.

Much love 2 you but I don't believe it.

I remember back in 99 when all the buzz was all up on an MC/MJ duet and its called 'Dust in the air'. They said it was 4 her Butterfly LP but it was already mastered and they lift it 2 MJ 4 his next effort(Which is 'Invincible) but as you all know,,She ain't there.

I hope tho cuz I WAS WAITING 4 such thing to happend. It will get 'em back to the TOP where they used to be.

i too gotta hear it to believe it. mike and mariah carey were supposed to sing together on mike's 'mj and friends' concert back in '99 or something. they were supposed to sing 'she's out of my life'. never happened! just like the pavarotti-duet he was supposed to do at that same concert.

purple music does the same to my brain

I love Mariah's voice so I wouldn't mind hearing her sing again. Alicia Keyes reminds me a lot of Mariah, that's exactly how I see her, 'another Mariah'. I still like Michael Jackson's songs too so I welcome it with open arms. smile

Of course sources say they sound great - the sources are MJ yes men. What do you expect them to say - its not great but its MJ & MC so lets play it up that its a great song because both of their careers need a boast.

Actually,I'm not sure who those "sources" are.Probably Jam and Lewis, since they are the producers of the song?

I'm so looking forward to this being released, finaly two of my favourite artist will release something together. I imagine their voices would go well together cos Mariah has got a lot of range in her singing and MJs singing is actually improving IMO (eg Butterflies).

I don't like to blow up people's spot, but is it true that Michael Jackson got surgery on his vocal chords not too long ago so that he'd still sound the same? I wonder if those were just rumors, but his voice is thin and it's different, but it sounds nice anyway which separates him from others. But nothing like Prince, with his thick masculine high voice I put on top of all others.
