your favorite artists of each of the last 4 decades?

give your favorite artists of each of the last four decades...for artists that have spanned more than one decade use the decade they were most popular in (example- Prince 80's) also narrow it down to just one smile

here are mine

1970s Bee Gees
1980s Prince
1990s Savage Garden
2000s The Killers
Check it out ...Shiny Toy Guns R gonna blowup VERY soon and bring melody back to music..you heard it here 1st! http://www.myspacecomment...theone.mp3

1970's - Bowie
1980's - Madonna
1990's - U2
2000's - Arcade Fire

Of course, this leaves out Prince and the Talking Heads for the '80's
I think Madonna was great in the '90's and 2000's, and U2 was great in the '80s and the '00's. IMO, also, REM and Depeche were great from the 80's to the '00s.

70's - The Jacksons, there more late 70's / early 80's but i'll consider them 70's

80's - Guns'n'roses, again like the jacksons there more then one decade, there more late 80's / early 90's, but i'll consider them 80's

90's - all the artists i like from this decade are more then just the 90's so i cant really think of anyone at all. i guess i'll say The spice Girls because they were my favourtie artists in the 90's when i was a kid

00's - Christina Aguilera, im not a huge fan of her either, but i dont really like anyone elses full body of work from this decade.

i didnt say Michael Jackson or Madonna for any decade even thought they are my favourite artists ever, as i love all their work, i dont see them as just a particular decade

1970's - a tie between Earth Wind and Fire and Stevie Wonder

1980's - a tie between Prince and The Pat Metheny Group

1990's - Jean Paul Bourelly

2000's - I think Lewis Taylor has it so far...
