George Benson wasn't bull*******! I'm sitting here listening to "Affirmation" on Watercolors and George is rolling!
A lot of people didn't like his more commercial 70's CD's compared to his 60's stuff but he still laid some good licks on those records. Enough to make a nice living and have us players go to the woodshed and learn from him. Bravo to Mr. Benson. And he still sounds good today. "Deeper Than You Think" with Joe Sample is great. Affirmation is one of my favorite...listen to his feel for melody when he improvises...damn...GREAT! | |

he's an awesome guitar-player, but he's commercial stuff of the recent years doesn't do it for me..... He made some great records over the years! | |

Yeah I agree with you about some of his commercial stuff. However as a guitarplayer he could "rape" guitarplayers like Jeff Beck in his sleep! | |

He is an amazing guitar player and i have always liked him , the old stuff is better but the Irreplaceable album is not bad . ![]() Guess that I'll stay at home
