Z Cult Fave/Bar Kays-Freaky Behavior Ya'll remember this? From one of the Bar Kays best albums, "Nightcruising" in 81, "Freaky Behavior" is jamming. Extremley funky for a dance/pop cut, they took a quick look at Cameo and said "We'll have some of that!". Who else digs this cut? SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

Alright now blackguitaritz, you know I ain't gonna let no Barkays thread go to waste. These guys are my third favorites of all time. I hear a little Cameo in "Freaky Behavior" but I hear more Rick James "Super Freak" in it.
"Freaky Behavior" is definately a great description for the group because they are definately the bad ass freaks from Memphis that can tear the muthafuckin' roof off.....
And for those who think Prince should be tame now that he's in his 40s, well, I think these guys were in their 40s in the 1980s and they were wild as hell and very popular. Age ain't nothing but a number. Here they are recently.....
I wish I could find a picture of Larry with his live yellow python. Andy is a four letter word.

I wish I could find a picture of Larry with his live yellow python. I like their style. When I seen one of their member had a blonde fro on one of their album cover in the early 70s I was like that kind a cool. I wish I could hear a sample of their 1973 album coldblooded.

I wish I could find a picture of Larry with his live yellow python. Great post, Vain! Nice pics too. I ran a thread on here right after I joined this site regarding the "Black Rock" album by The Bar Kays. One of my all-time fave albums by anyone. I didn't mention the "SuperFreak" bite cuz I knew that was a given. I felt the Cameo bite was more on the sly. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz.
