I Want You (She So Heavy)

Maybe I'm late on this and somebody has
probably pointed this out already..

But the guitar riff towards the end of this groove, I hear the

'Maggot Brain' riff...
And I was like dang!! eek

Had me thinking, Eddie Hazel probably came up with the solo, and George grab that riff and added it on there..

But George was a admirer of The Beatles anyway...

Has anyone else notice that???hmmm

U got to give folks time to post, player! And yeah, I hear it. But dig too, this cut always reminded me of Hazel's cover "California Dreaming" for some odd reason.

I think that's just a coincidence. It's basically just an arpeggio.

Coincidence huh??hmmm

Ummm..Okay

How about 'Mommy, What's A Funkadelic?' guitar riff sounding like

Led Zepplin's 'Whole Lot Of Lovin'?...

One mo'....The organ part on Free Your Mind & Your Ass Will Follow, sounding

similiar to Vanilla Fudge's covered of You Keep Me Hangin On???hmmm

The guitar riff to Whole Lotta Love is a really simple blues riff, and anyone playing the guitar could easily play it by accident (just like they could play the chord arpeggio of I Want You & Maggot Brain). It's not a longer melodic riff like, say Sweet Child 'o Mine, Day Tripper, Pretty Woman.

I'm not saying they didn't steal them, I have no clue, I'm just saying it would be easy to come up with the same riff when it's simple & blues based.

And I know some folks (not me) who think Zeppelin ripped off everything they ever did.

Still, I think you're right that George loved the Beatles and he was influenced by them. And you're also right that it does sound the same.

Well Zep's whole lotta love is based on willie dixon's "you need love" (I think the lyrics are stolen wholesale), but I think they added a slightly different riff.
