He’s doing it big with Trapped in the Closet. It’s corny, but he knows how to promote.
Whatever he did, I think his music is good, it seems like people want to put his music down cause he is into little girls. Admit it , he's made some good songs.

i used to dig RK...but damn...as soon as you like one of his songs, he puts out nine or ten variations of that damn song out. he's done enough dumb shit to undermine his own career--making xxx videos with various females, beefing with jay z (TWICE)...he's done some nice fluff r&B, but nothing that will be on anybody's "classic list"...i can take him or leave him.

Yeah I like Kellz. He got alot of tight songs...but I'll admit some of them sound too repetitive and medicore. I like the "Trapped In The Closet" shit cause its funny; pretty corny but I find it humorous - the part about the midget had me rollin.

He's great. I love his megalomania. May he never lose it.

The scandal never affected how I felt about his music. I never liked it before the scandal either.

Most of his shit sounds the same.

Well, he is a comedic genius. I'll give him that.

I love R. His performance at the end of the Billboard awards was amazing, I damn near cried.

R.Kelly's music is shit.He is one of the reasons for the decline of R&B.His music consists of over-sexed,plastic-sounding,bass-heavy R&B crap with embarrassingly bad lyrics.He's stolen most of his ideas from The Isley Brothers,which is why his own songs sound like old Isley Bros. songs with a "modern" R&B arrangement.And why does he always have to over-sing?

How many songs is he gonna write about cheating on your lover?? He's done numerous songs with this same tired topic.It's almost as if he is trying to justify his own infidelities or trying to pretend that everybody does it.Whatever the case,it's played out and very predictable.

Kelly is soooo 2003. He is also cursed now, like MJ, Woody Allen, Kobe etc. He is a tainted star that will never be taken seriously ever again. He may put out something hot but it will never redeem himself, never.

He had a moment, around the time of Aaliyah's debut album, everything he touched went gold.
Then he pretended he could fly. Stupid. Sometimes the brilliance still shines through, but often enough all he does is repeat himself.

I've liked exactly two R. Kelly songs in my life, and those were with Public Announcement before he was a solo act: Honey Love and She's Got That Vibe. Honey Love is a good slow number that could just as easily have been a Jodeci song. She's Got That Vibe was a pretty fun number, but I can't stomach listening to it after hearing the full album version again. It'd been some time since I'd heard it. He's naming off a bunch of women at the end that he wants to put his vibe in - "Cute young Aaliyah's got it." She was all of 13 at the time.



After that, I got bored with his music. He kept talking about how it was church music with his own flavor added to it. I never heard any church in his music and I rarely heard any actual music in his music.
