its kind of a trip how an artist can come out with only two albums 3 years apart, and can still be remembered 15 years later like chuckii booker.... i mean i still play the 2nd album "nice n wiild" and still remember that 1st album by heart and i lost the tape i had of it at least 4-5 years ago lol anybody else know how i feel?

Hell yeah...props to Chuckii. "Turned Away" was one of the great jams of the early 90's. I remember when he opened up for Janet at Rhythm Nation tour. He was pretty damn solid...too many great R and B acts from the early 90's disappeared too soon.
All good things they say never last...

Go CHUCKII

I've always wondered if or why he didnt sue when "RETURN OF THE MACK" clearly ripped off "GAMES" I dont think he got a sample credit, but thats the same exact groove! I love both songs, fyi.. ha

I love Chuckii's music. "Turned Away" and "Games" were the jams. But my favorite Chuckii Booker songs were two that he wrote for other artists. Any body remember "Spread My Wings" by Troop, And "Treat You Right" by Angela Winbush? I used to wear-out "Spread My Wings" on my old Boom-Box. And Chuckii's guitar licks on "Treat You Right" were FUNKY. Kind of a mixture of jazz and funk. I wonder what he's up to these days?

One of my faves is "Touch", where he was killin' it on bass. Still wish I had his live performances on BET, where it was just him and a keyboard - funky stuff!!! Last I heard/saw, he was playing in Lionel Richie's touring band.

Dead on...That's why the man is still remembered..The songs he wrote for other artists really stood out..."Spread My Wings" was a beautifully produced song...

Chuckii was a monster producer. His chord voicings were killer. Chops for days. Wish he still were out front that way.

But, I say the same about other favorite producers such as Mervyn Warren and Prince.

Chuckii!!!!!

He even had a small acting part in House Party 3 (the crap one) if I remember, he was playing Piano in a hotel lobby for Immature?

"Let Me Love You" on his first album (with turned away et al), is still one of my fave jams, an early version of "Front Line" if U ask me!

"tweedle-deedle-dee and tweedle-deedle-doy, tell me what is left that's there 2 destroy?"

I do wonder about ol' Chuckii, Troop, Geoffrey Williams and the rest...
