 this is my favorite Cheryl Lynn song
I've done a few threads on the Summer of '81,when there were so many great R&B jams."Shake It Up Tonight" is one of the songs that I remember from that summer.I love the lyrics,which captures the excitement of preparing to party all night... can't wait until the sun goes down...I'm gettin' ready see the moonlight on the town...I'm gettin' ready there will be alot of people there...don't you wanna be ready? they'll be coming from everywhere...I'm gettin' ready Produced by Ray Parker Jr.Listen to that funky guitar he plays during the bridge,when Cheryl sings "I'm gonna shake my body tonight".Too funky! | |

yep, great song, for sure 
it does however not beat "Got to be real" in my book, but probably mainly cause this song has to many personal memories involved Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy! | |

That's a good song for the club...maybe old school club, but a definite shake your body song. "Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!
