"HOLLYWOOD" vs. "I LOVE NEW YORK"

not sure if someone mentioned this before, but, does anyone else hear similarities in MADONNA's "HOLLYWOOD" & "I LOVE NEW YORK"? especially in the Jacques Le Cont version of "Hollywood". sort of an east coast vs. west coast. giggle
i'm not choosing one over the other on this one, so i'm asking all of you:
which do you prefer? hmmm

Well, seeing as "I Love New York" is one of the worst things she's ever recorded, I'd have to go with "Hollywood". Admittedly, "Hollywood" is no Shakesperian masterpiece, it's a little more coherent, and less embarassing (if only marginally so) than ILNY. The "Thin White Duck Mix" is ace, though.

Well, I'm a lyrics person, so that's my main problem with is the abysmal lyrics. I also don't think the song really fits in with the rest of the album. Too confrontational. Hollywood is no lyrical gem, either, but at least it has a pretty decent melody.

It's the Stuart Price aka Jacques Le Cont aka Thin White Duck mix. It's the one she did on the VMAs.

lol I actually really like her new CD way more than I thought I was going to. Although currently, I'm taking a break from it; I'm afraid it's going to suffer from oversaturation.
Anyway, Madonna was my first musical love, I grew up on the ol' girl and am not about to forsake her now. I feel that I've earned the right to bitch about her when she does something I don't agree with. However, I do get a little pissed when non-fans decide to badmouth her royal Madgesty.

"Hollywood" wins hands down, although I'm in the minority in liking "I Love New York".

I don't get it either. It's supposed to be a silly send-up. The music is so good that it doesn't matter anyway.

I say tie.

I dont get the hate for ILNY either. I think its a cool track. No single calibre or anything, but i reckon itll be great live. I have no problem with the lyrics. The tired cliches of Like It Or Not are far more annoying IMO. Anyway. much as I like ILNY, the Hollywood remix is one of the best things she's released in the last few years. She should have let Stuart Price remix the whole American Life album.
