but I know those appeal to a slightly more limited (weirder rock & roll) audience than Yesterday & Let It Be (which are a bit more generic, IMO).

thats the word--generic
and Macca tend to be generic sometimes
however all his originality as composer


I guess generic appeals to a wider group of people, though--it's more universal. Yesterday really is a great song. It could have been a hit any time in the last 300 years!

It was last on Sgt Pepper because they knew no song could really follow it (especially when you consider that the last chord lasts about a whole minute!). So I'd probaby put it last on either cd. It's not really a hit, so I'm not sure that order really matters. But I'd probably place it at the end of the first cd, as it is a pretty important song in Beatles mythology.

That's my top-4 as well....but exactly the other way around wink
