you've got to be kidding me. i find it embarrasing that a once huge band could get a new singer from a reality tv show after their original singer died. i did see the show and thought it was ok but i think INXS should be ashamed of themselves. What about Michael Hutchence's legacy?

i want to FLAME you so bad, but I'm not. Read the other threads please. There is more to a band besides a dead lead singer. I love the Hutch but the other guys need to move on. Why don't you people understand?

can't they move on by creating a new band? you don't see Dave Grohl running around with some new singer pretending Nirvana's still alive and well do you?
and it's more then just the fact that they replaced the singer, that's understandable,(AC/DC did it well), it's the whole reality show spectacle of it, it's distasteful.

Nirvana isn't comparable. Krist Novoselic didn't want to be a musician forever, so beyond that, there really was no band. Dave Grohl had no choice but to do his own thing. INXS had five members left, three of whom are brothers. I don't really see the similarities, other than singers who died way before they should have.

and they couldn't have gotten a new singer without the whole bread and circuses aspect of a reality show?

The reality show was a brilliant move (would anyone give a rat's ass about INXS at this point, otherwise?). Bands audition singers. They happened to do it on TV. What's the difference (besides reviving a moribund career)? Brilliant move.

Incidentally, the new INXS performed here on MuchMoreMusic and all you fellow JD-haters will be pleased to know that he still can't hit the high notes (he let the audience sing the peak in "Never Tear Us Apart"). disbelief

I agree with you 100%! It's the fact that they did it on a reality tv show that makes it worse. It's just disgraceful.
