commodores reunion

since lionel richies 1981 breaking from commodores there was always a thought about reunion of the original commodores.
but will it ever happens???
no lionel richie no commodores were ever the same since they went oposite roads.
i think it would be the best time for commodores reunion.
many bands reunite.
look how succesful was this years cream reunion.
cream were last played together in 1968,they come back again in 2005.

This has been talked about on the Org for quite sometime. It was supposed to happen back in 1990 and all of them agreed (including Lionel). But he kept coming up with excuses and bailed out. VH-1's "Bands Reunited" almost got them together but Lionel, William King, and Walter Orange bailed out after agreeing.
It seems that there's still bad blood between those 3. But Lionel should do it for the fans. Plus his recent music is nothing to write home about.

I mean, its not like that both Lionel & the group are in great demand these days..

So they might as well get back together...

I think they should too. All these other rock band reunite so I think funk and R&B band should too. Lionel got some popularity from82 to 86 and The Commodores had minus Lionel came out with Janet and The Night shift in 84 had some popularity after thos songs that was it.

For so many years I was naieve enough to think musicians did stuff for fans, and foolish enough to actually feel artists, to a degree actually owed their fans what they requested sometimes. But as I have learned from Prince over the years, that doesn't always happen.

I would love for the Commodores to reunite, if only for a couple of shows (same with Shalamar), but if people are waiting for them to do it just for the fans, you can hang that up.

I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

I wish these guys would just put their differences aside and DO IT! They're not getting any younger, you know.Earth Wind and Fire tour every year, playing huge arenas and selling out everywhere. There is no reason the Commodores can't do the same.

So true.Lionel's recent albums are pop garbage. And a few years ago,he was the opening act on a Tina Turner tour (!).Needless to say,his solo career is on life support. Why not reunite with the Commodores? He certainly has nothing to lose.

Amen on that David. I watched Lionel last night on TV and he was doing a two man show with Kenny Rogers. I sat there watching the show and I was thinking; "Damn I WISH he would get back with them"! (lol) Maybe it'll hit Lionel and the boys if they get inducted in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2007.

Just last week, I was thinking about how Shalamar needs to reunite for a tour. I'd love to see a SOLAR tour featuring The Whispers, Lakeside, Midnight Star and Shalamar. How sweet would that be?

A Solar reunion tour would be fantastic. Shalamar almost got got back together but Jody Watley supposedly is no longer cool with Howard Hewitt. He said he would do it but she has to OK it. Shalamar is another group that's been through a lot of members too.

If the Eagles can get back together, anything's possible. Money can make the ice floes in hell thaw very quickly...
