Hell naw! neutral Why has no one else brought up his Fresh Prince years? The show was great and the records were classic.

His song I wish I made That/Swagga (which is not a bad song) I wonder why he couldn't get some of the top hip hop producers like Kanye or Neptunes or whoever else to make him a couple of solid tunes. He's saying he wish he would of made those songs well...why didn't/couldn't he?

I like that song too and pump ya breaks feat. snoop dog! they should release it as a single.

I really thought they were gonna release the Snoop Dogg or the MJB one to capitalize on their appearance but I heard he was doing a video for one of the other songs--I think it was If You Can't Dance. Swagga would have been a good single too. Actually I forgot Timbaland produced on there but surely nothing along the lines of a Headsprung.
Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

if you can't dance is too bubble gum in my opinion, i wish they'd release pump ya breaks or swagga. even "nice guy" would be cool but i doubt it.

hold up.....I like Will Smith! Yes, I said it and what?! He is a positive role model for black people. I guess he isn't runing around calling women bitches and hoes there for he is not cool. Whatever! I like him and his latest cd is cool too! You go Will! I guess people can't stand seeing a black person who doesn't act like a bafoon, including black people.

No, I just don't like his smart-alec attitude and his corniness.

that's cool. everyone is entitled to their own opinion but it seems like a lot of people don't like him because he's not gangsta enough or at all for that matter.

Not here. I can't stand most gangsta rap either. lol I like rap when it is innovative and funky.

no way, those rock! woot! it's just that many like myself don't bother to click on Will Smith threads these days.... you kinda know what to expect smile

"He's the DJ, I'm the rapper" was a blast back then, and it's still an early Hip Hop classic, even though it sounds kinda dated today
Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy!

Basically all of Will Smith's songs are heavily sampled off something else and his lyrics are almost exclusively about himself. But I stil love him. biggrin

while on the other hand other rappers always compose new music competetly from scratch, and never even rap about themselves during, their entire career. that pattern started already with "Rappers Delight" in 1979 and has been strict law in Hip Hop ever since biggrin

Yeah but Will sounds like he actually means the ego thing he goes on and on and on about. Hip-hop samples, sure, but listen to "Miami" and whatever song it came off of.

I like this recent stuff from Jeff on the independent BBE-label

And in this movie , Will did okay ( imo )

For the rest , " Summertime " i liked as a nice summerjam ,
but his rhyme skills never got me like " Wow ! " or somethin'.
Was that final-vote for best pop-rock act a public-choice ? .
If so , it could have been because he's more in the spotlights as an actor .
But definitely not for his rapping . There are much more talented rhymers over there ...
.

Will Smith's album flopped? neutral , how was he even nominated? surely there were other male artists who did better on the charts and radio than Will Smith in 2005?! or maybe not

Because the whole thing is a total fraud. I honestly think it is something that
the music industry throws on to try and pump up record sales.

This awards show had the worst ratings in the history of the AMA.

I totally agree. The show was awful. I wanted to see the greats like Santana and the Stones, but I fell asleep.

Nope, I'm thinking of Will Smith! He's even worse than Puff Daddy, Mase and 50 Cent!

Top 10 on my worst acts ever list. lol

But at least the Fresh Prince writes his own rhymes, which is something you can't say for P. Diddy. Does that count for something?

Some of us have been around black people all of our lives. We tend not to have low expectations of blacks. So no Will doesn't get cool points for acting like he's supposed to. He's still a below average rapper.
