lol

You're right nod but I can just hear someone like Geoffrey Palmer saying that.

giggle

You know, as much as I love Aerial and wanted something to come and beat its' ass, my favourite song is still The Sensual World. I was listening to the instrumental version the other day - jerkoff

What other Kate albums do you need to investigate, Anxiety?

Listen to The Dreaming and the rest of the tracks that follow late at night with only a candle burning, then you'll be sure to penetrate it. a full moon might also help.

It scared the fuck out of me the first time I listened and I haven't been able to go back since. boxed

Hey Anx, I know you're not a fan of early Kate for the most part, but what have you heard?

I ADORE "Never For Ever" but can't penetrate "The Dreaming" yet. But "Never For Ever" has some classic moments that I think you'd really dig. "Delius", "Babooshka", "Army Dreamers" and "Breathing" are all classics.

I wouldn't say "not a fan" as much as I'd say I've never really given myself a chance to dig into anything earlier than "Hounds Of Love". The new album has really given me a jumpstart to explore her older stuff...there's not that much by her that I don't have - I think after my purchase yesterday, there may only be two or three I don't have - so checking out her older albums doesn't seem that daunting a task to me now.

Sorry, I didn't get that one. :overmyhead:

high pitched giggle I still like the new vocals version of Wuthering Heights better than the original, not because of her high girl-like vocal, but because it's remastered.

I´m not a hardcore fan, but I have Never for Ever, Hounds of Love, the Sensual World, the Red Shoes and probably a couple more albums and video collections...

So there are TWO versions of Wuthering Heights because of the girlish vocals ? eek Could you please elaborate ? I´m not that familiar with her earlier work.

As much as I love Kate, I can't listen to the first 2 albums. The voice just kills me.

That's the voice I feel in love with.

i was introduced to Kate via Don't Give Up and Running Up that Hill, so I didn't hear the early stuff until after I was already in love with Hounds of Love and The Dreaming... and the voice just grated on my nerves. I respect the early stuff, but I just can't listen to it because the voice doesn't appeal to me personally.

"Wuthering Heights" and "The Man with the Child in His Eyes" are classics through and through...
You'll find the more you listen to it the more it will grow on you.

there's like a 10 yr. difference in the songs, so her vocals are more mature in the "new vocals" version. I know a lot of fans like the original one better, but I like the newer one. smile
