Who was who's clone?

For example...

Georgio is said to have been the reigning "poor man's Prince" champion.

John Cafferty(I believe his name is) was said to have been a "bargain basement Bruce Springsteen.

Who else was most considered the most blatant rip off of another artist or act?

Actually people said Terence Trent D'arby was a poor man's Prince.

Osmonds were defintely a poor man's Jackson 5 because The Osmonds switched their style up to "One Bad Apple" after the success of J5.

INXS was said to be a poor man's U2 (I don't find them that similar).

in my opinion..the whole grunge era was a rip off scene..

we all know nirvana ripped off pieces of REM,Pixies,The Stooges,..which then bands of the like as Bush,Silverchair,etc...the only..band..i can say was orginal in the 90's was the smashing pumpkins but then people say..thier a rip off my bloody valentine becuase of the siamese dream album..my point.. i dont like nirvana..a tad over rated.

You are so right about that. Usher is a blatant clone. Usher sings like Michael Jackson. He dances like Michael Jackson. He's done everything but bleach his skin and register as a sex offender!

The Black Crowes as the "Poor Man's Rolling Stones".
Even Keef himself made a comment after hearing them similar to, "Where have we heard that before?"

But as Keith Richards sagely pointed out in Q148, "The Rolling Stones are not here to break new ground, they're here to be The Rolling Stones." In a funny way, The Black Crowes are not here to break new ground either. They're here to be The Rolling Stones too.

-- Tom Doyle

I'm willing to bet the "Poor Man's Rolling Stones" title has been hung on Aerosmith also at some point.

Prince had pretty much stood alone for me in the early days. When he started using horns, I saw a younger James Brown.
