What about Greetings From Asbury Park? I DON'T WANT TO BE NORMAL,because normal is part of the status quo, which I don't want to be a part of- Tori Amos

You can't go wrong with Darkness but my favorite Springsteen cd is probably "The Rising".

What about Greetings From Asbury Park? I compare Greeting to For You from Prince. Some like it but its a little bland. [Edited 11/19/05 19:05pm]

If you're a Bruce fan, you must own Darkness on the edge of town.
'Badlands', 'Candy's Room', 'Streets of fire', 'Racing in the street'.. It's one of my all time favorite albums. Born to run deals with escapism and chasing your dreams. Darkness deals with the reality of life, and how to deal with it.

"Darkness" is a great album /
The only problem is that the currently available CD supposedly sounds awful. Let's hope that the upgraded "Born to Run" means that the rest of his catalog will be remastered soon. Like Prince, Bruce suffers from having his CDs done early in the game, and sonic improvements can be made #SOCIETYDEFINESU

Yes, Darkness is the one to get. It's a masterpiece, the link between Born To Run and Nebraska. And keep an eye out for the Live At Winterland 1978 bootleg too. There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

I am a HUGE Bruce fan.
Personally I think Darkness is an awesome album. Can't go wrong with that one. My fave album is The River, its his Sign o the Times. Mainly that its a double album and its flawless (but its not near as schizo). Main Bruce albums to own in the beginning... The River Born to Run Darkness on The Edge of Town Nebraska (if you like this one, pick up Devils & Dust too) Next Up... Tunnel Of Love Born In The USA The Rising Greetings From... The Wild & Innocent (For Rosilta alone!) Live in NYC.
